This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Planetary Records ("Planetary Records", "we") collects across planetary.music and services.planetary.music, why, and the choices you have. For how we use cookies and similar technologies, see our Cookie & Tracking Policy.
1. Controller
Planetary Records is the data controller for the processing described here. Contact our privacy team at privacy@planetary.music.
2. What we collect
- Account data. Your email address and, where you provide it, a display
name. We use passwordless "magic link" sign-in, so we do not collect passwords.
- Content you provide. Audio you upload for mastering, prompts and lyrics
you generate, demo submissions, and messages you send us.
- Service outputs and history. Mastered files, generated lyrics, and your
request/generation history.
- Purchase data. Records of credit purchases and spend. Card payments are
processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation and limited metadata (such as the last four digits and card brand) but not your full card number.
- Usage and device data. IP address, approximate location (country), device
and browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions — collected via first-party logging and the analytics/advertising tools described in the Cookie & Tracking Policy.
- Marketing preferences. Whether you subscribed to release alerts or other
emails, and your engagement with them.
3. Why we use it (and our legal bases)
- To provide the services you request — master audio, generate lyrics,
deliver downloads, run your account and wallet. (Performance of a contract.)
- To take payment and prevent fraud. *(Contract; legitimate interests; legal
obligation.)*
- To communicate with you about your requests, security, and changes.
(Contract; legitimate interests.)
- Marketing emails (release alerts, offers) where you have opted in or where
permitted for existing customers. You can unsubscribe at any time. (Consent; legitimate interests.)
- Analytics and advertising to understand and grow our audience. In the EEA,
UK and Switzerland these run only with your consent. (Consent; legitimate interests elsewhere.)
- To keep the services safe and comply with law. *(Legitimate interests;
legal obligation.)*
4. Sharing
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers ("processors") who work on our behalf — cloud hosting
and storage (Cloudflare), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend and our transactional mail), and analytics/advertising partners (Google, Meta, Reddit) as described in the Cookie & Tracking Policy.
- Authorities or others where required by law, to protect our rights, or as
part of a business transfer.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: account and content data for the life of your account (and a limited backup window after deletion); analytics event data for up to about 180 days; and financial records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email privacy@planetary.music. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes
We will post changes here with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
11. Contact
